Planes, Walmart, and Elk

June 12, 2014

We began our trip at the crowded RDU airport with paparazzi snapping an endless series of memories. Having risen at an ungodly hour of the morning, we boarded our plane, preparing for our four hour nap. Our in-flight adventure consisted of physicians caring for an elderly man who experienced a fainting spell (fortunately, he was just fine!). Arriving in Salt Lake City we scrounged a meager lunch and boarded the plane for Bozeman, home of Bozeman Science (shout out). Impressed by the artistic stylings of the Bozeman airport, we unceremoniously threw our luggage into our mobile home and headed to the most impressive Walmart that we have ever seen (not really). After having second breakfast at the classy McCafe, we proceeded to entertain the locals while Melissa and Kathryn stocked up on supplies for picnic breakfasts and lunches.

Finally, on the road to Yellowstone, we were awed at the snow-capped mountains and the bison lounging by the road. We experienced a touching moment while walking through the Roosevelt Arch and officially entering heaven. After checking into our lodging for the night we had our group meeting with a friendly female elk nearby and were promptly rained on. We sit here writing this blog from the comfort of a couch while listening to the beautiful piano stylings of a talented man in a Hawaiian shirt. Hopefully a hike to follow.
