iLabs: Volunteers Are Welcomed!!

August 19, 2012

Do you love science? Would you love to be part of our effort to make a difference in someone’s life? Encourage a whole new generation of scientists who may find the solutions to fuel, environmental or health issues?  If you do, we need you.

The Micro World Investigate lab alone hosted over 8000 visitors in July. The other Investigate Labs and the Naturalist Center had similar numbers. We are passionate about reaching as many people of all ages and walks of life as possible and sharing the wonders, excitement and possibilities science can offer.  You never know what one visit could lead to in someone’s life.

But we need help. The regular staff is tasked with not only hosting the public in activities, but developing, testing, and delivering new activities. We also develop and deliver classes to schools, homeschools, private groups ranging from scouts to retired adults, teacher seminars, and soon, we will add classes for the public on Saturday mornings.

In order to continue to move forward on the many things we want to offer, we need people to help man the room and greet our visiting public. Any days are fine — weekdays, weekends, and right now with many of our student interns returning to college, we are short of help.

If you are looking for something meaningful and new to do, please consider joining our team of passionate volunteers.

To express interest, just reply to this blog post or email any of the following staff members:

We would LOVE to meet you!
