iLabs: Of Vinegar Eels, Rotifers and Water Bears….Revisited

July 15, 2012

There is a really good conversation taking place that got started with an earlier post about how long vinegar eels live.

Dr Maggie Ray came back with a reply that highlighted how the male vinegar eels look compared to the females. My request for help in learning more about how DO vinegar eels end up in vinegar, and their life cycle in general, resulted in a second comment just so CHOCK FULL of information on not only vinegar eels, but also rotifers and tardigrades (water bears) that I just HAD to repost this post and discussion. So for any newcomers, here is a recap of our “vinegar eel discussion” and all the juicy information that followed!

And my thanks to the visitor who asked the question about how long vinegar eels live. You got a really good and informative discussion going.  Keep the visitor questions coming!
