iLabs: Fungi Adventure in Schenck Forest!

The fruits of our morning’s labor: the mushrooms collected with Dr. Larry Grand of NCSU, and Caroline Vernia this morning at Schenck Forest in Raleigh.
Just a small tidbit for now to share with you all. I spent the morning at Raleigh’s Schenck Forest with Dr. Larry Grand of NCSU and his seminar co-leader Caroline Vernia. They led a 3—day seminar for educators entitled:
“Exploring Fungi: Educators and Students as Co-Investigators of the Ecology and Biogeography of Wood-decay Fungi.”
I attended to learn more about a subject I love, a subject we are going to be doing more activities and classes on in the Micro World lab, and a subject we hope the public will join us in for future explorations. I’ll be posting more pictures and fungi info soon.
Happy Weekend!
